Academic Requirements:

A first-class or upper second-class Honours degree in biomedical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, physical or life sciences.

If you have previous biomedical engineering or research experience you may register for MPhil degree. If you're studying for an MPhil or PhD you'll normally attend some of the classes in the instructional MSc in Biomedical Engineering. You'll also undertake a research or development project and submit a thesis.

If you're in industry, the health service or other suitable employment you may register for part-time MPhil or PhD study. Projects for part-time study are subject to the approval of the Head of Department.

Graduates from public universities and Tier 1 private universities with a 60% (3.0/4 GPA) will be considered for entry. Students of other private universities will be considered on a case by case basis.

Academic Requirements:

For entry to Strathclyde postgraduate programmes, we'd look for a first-class undergraduate degree (approx 60%) from a recognised Indian institution. Although 60% is a general entry requirement we understand that the marking system in some states and national universities make it harder to achieve 60%, therefore we will accept 55% from University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, University of Delhi etc. Graduates from the IITs and IIMs will also be considered with marks in the region of 55%. If you wish to apply for a research degree you'd normally have to have a Masters degree and some experience of research work.
