Academic Requirements:

A/AS-levels: A*AA-AAB including two science subjects from Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Two AS-levels considered in place of one A-level. General studies accepted. If you don’t have post-GCSE Maths qualification (e.g. A Level Mathematics, AS level Maths or Core Maths) you will be required to complete an online maths module in the September before your course commences.
GCSEs: At least grade B/5 in Maths
EPQ with A-levels: typical offer AAA + EPQ at grade B. EPQ must be in a science related subject
Access to HE (Science): 45 credits at level 3, 30 at Distinction
International Baccalaureate: Pass diploma with 34 points including grade 6 and 5 in at least two HL relevant science subjects from Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Maths and Physics. Plus grade 7 in Maths SL if not taken as a Higher level subject.
BTEC: Pass Applied Science Extended Diploma with D*D*D. If you don’t have post-GCSE Maths qualification (e.g. A Level Mathematics, AS level Maths or Core Maths) you will be required to complete an online maths module in the September before your course commences.
T Levels: Distinction in Science (with an Occupational Specialism in Laboratory technician).

If you have successfully completed a three-year Bachelors (undergraduate) degree at a Bangladeshi university, with good grades, you may be considered for entry to the first year of a Bachelors degree.

If you do not meet the entry requirements for one of our courses, you can apply for an International Foundation Year run by the Global Study Centre. The GSC provides academic support to help you progress to your chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Leicester.

Academic Requirements:

If you have completed the standard XII awarded by the CISCE/CBSE, or another recognised state exam board, with at least 75% overall, you may be considered for admission to a first year Bachelors degree. For many courses at the University of Leicester, you will need 80% overall or higher, along with higher individual marks of 85% in relevant subjects.

If you have already completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at an Indian university, you may be considered for entry to the first or second year of a Bachelors degree if you have studied relevant subjects and/or modules. We also have progression arrangements with some partner institutions in India, which allow advance entry to certain University of Leicester courses. Please contact the International Office for further information.

For standard entry to our Bachelor's programmes, you will need to have met the following:

If you have completed (or will complete) the Certificat d' Enseignement Secondaire Superieur (French) or Diploma van Secundaire Onderwijs (Dutch/Flemish speakers) you will typically need a pass of 75% overall to begin from the first year of a Bachelors degree (depending on the subject that you wish to study).

If you have completed the European Baccalaureate then you can begin from the first year of a Bachelors degree. 85% would be the equivalent to a grade A in a British A-level; 77% would be equivalent to a grade B.
