Academic Requirements:

To be eligible for this course you require a first degree or relevant professional qualification, or a combination of qualifications and experience demonstrating capacity for postgraduate study.

You’ll also require sufficient access to childcare settings through which you can evidence programme and practice requirements. This will involve working or volunteering in a childcare setting, either part-time or full-time, throughout the duration of the programme.

The course assessments will require you to:

analyse and reflect upon agency policy of your workplace/employer
undertake a case study assessment of a child or youth you are working with or have worked with
analyse and reflect upon issues of leadership and management in your agency
video yourself in practice with a child or youth and/or work colleague for the purpose of reflecting upon your communication skills and relational practice
plan and implement a possible intervention modification within your agency
plan and undertake a research project relevant to your agency/workplace
These requirements are designed in a way that makes the course accessible to everyone working in a childcare setting. They're also broad enough to allow those in external management and supervisory positions to do so.

The course is not suitable for anyone not currently working, volunteering or connected to a childcare setting. Evidencing this requirement will form part of the application process.

Graduates from public universities and Tier 1 private universities with a 60% (3.0/4 GPA) will be considered for entry. Students of other private universities will be considered on a case by case basis.

Academic Requirements:

For entry to Strathclyde postgraduate programmes, we'd look for a first-class undergraduate degree (approx 60%) from a recognised Indian institution. Although 60% is a general entry requirement we understand that the marking system in some states and national universities make it harder to achieve 60%, therefore we will accept 55% from University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, University of Delhi etc. Graduates from the IITs and IIMs will also be considered with marks in the region of 55%. If you wish to apply for a research degree you'd normally have to have a Masters degree and some experience of research work.

Diplomë universitare is insufficient for entry. Kandidat i Shkencave (Candidate of Sciences), Masters level will be considered. A score of 8.5-9.5 from a well ranked public institution is considered comparable to a UK 2.1 while a score of 8-8.5 is considered comparable to a UK 2.2.
