	Undergraduate entry requirements for applicants from Bangladesh.
	
	Applicants with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-Levels can 
	be considered for admission to Undergraduate degree programmes at the 
	University of Edinburgh. Applicants to Medicine will only be considered if 
	they have completed A levels or the IB.
	
	Holders of the Intermediate/Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) or 
	Polytechnic Diplomas will not normally be considered for direct entry to 
	Undergraduate study at the University of Edinburgh. For exceptions to this

	Biomedical Sciences & Medical Sciences:
	For Biomedical Sciences & Medical Sciences, award of Certificate with five 
	subjects at Class XII with an overall average of 80% or above and minimum 
	85% in Biology & Chemistry. 75% at Grade XII English. 
	
	Medicine:
	For Medicine, CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination (SSC) or 
	CISCE Indian School Certificate (ISC) Standard XII with five subjects at 
	Class XII, with an overall average of 85% and grades of 85% or higher in 
	English, Chemistry plus two from Biology, Mathematics or Physics. Grade XII 
	CBSE Applied Mathematics is accepted to meet the Mathematics requirement.
	
	We do not require students to take an English language test in IELTS/TOEFL/Pearson 
	etc, if they achieve the minimum 85% from their Standard XII examinations.
	
	Applicants offering GCE A levels or the International Baccalaureate will be 
	considered and must meet the minimum entry requirements for these 
	qualifications.

Pre-Medical and Pre- Engineering:
For all undergraduate degree programmes offered by the College of Science and 
Engineering, applicants with 75% or more in the HSC/ Intermediate 
(Pre-Engineering or Pre-Medical streams only), will be considered for entry to 
year 1 of an undergraduate degree. Applicants must meet any specific-subject 
requirements.
Applicants wishing to study medicine or veterinary medicine will not be 
considered on the basis of the HSC Intermediate.
No other stream of the Intermediate HSC is considered suitable for direct entry 
to an undergraduate programme.

	College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences:
	For nearly all degree programmes demand for places is much higher than 
	places available so applicants who meet the detailed academic requirements 
	are not guaranteed an offer of studies. The majority of offers will be made 
	to students who achieve grades well above the detailed entry requirement.
	
	For many degree programmes, we will expect you to have studied specific 
	subjects within your qualifications. Where we ask applicants taking Scottish 
	Qualifications Authority (SQA) Highers and National 5s for a specific 
	subject(s) we will normally ask you for the same subject(s) in your 
	qualifications. Specific subject requirements at SQA Higher/National 5s for 
	each degree programme can be found at the beginning of each subject entry 
	via the online degree finder.
	
	For MA English Literature and joint degree programmes with English 
	Literature, applicants must have achieved, or be predicted to achieve, 
	English Literature at an advanced level which would typically be taken in 
	the final year of the high school diploma.

	order for applicants to be considered for an offer they need to have 
	achieved, or be predicted to achieve, the equivalencies of all entry

	Admissions information - Medicine:
	In addition to the minimum academic criteria, you are also required to meet 
	non-academic entry requirements in terms of skills, experience and 
	motivation.
	
	Non-academic entry requirements
	You are also required to sit the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) in 
	the summer before you submit your UCAS application. Details of the test and 
	how your result is used in the selection process are available on the 
	College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine website.
Biomedical Sciences and Medical Sciences:
Award of Diploma at least 5.5 in all final year subjects. Plus 5.5 in two state maturity exams including Biology and Chemistry with 5.95 in one further state maturity exam.
College of Science & Engineering:
For nearly all degree programmes demand for places is much higher than places available so applicants who meet the detailed academic requirements are not guaranteed an offer of studies. The majority of offers will be made to students who achieve grades well above the detailed entry requirement.
