Academic Requirements:

A-levels: BBB including Chemistry or Biology, plus one other science from Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics or Psychology. General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted. Maths and Further Maths count as one subject. Human Biology and Biology count as one subject
GCSEs: Grade C or 5 in English Language, Maths, and two sciences, including Chemistry and Biology, or Double Science
International Baccalaureate: Pass Diploma with 30 points overall including three higher level subjects at Grade 5 or above including Chemistry or Biology, plus one other science from Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics or Psychology.
Scottish Advanced Highers: Either alone or in a combination with A-levels. BBB to include Chemistry or Biology, plus one other science from Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics or Psychology. Scottish Highers are not considered
BTEC Extended National Diploma: DDD in Applied Science

If you have successfully completed a three-year Bachelors (undergraduate) degree at a Bangladeshi university, with good grades, you may be considered for entry to the first year of a Bachelors degree.

If you do not meet the entry requirements for one of our courses, you can apply for an International Foundation Year run by the Global Study Centre. The GSC provides academic support to help you progress to your chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Leicester.

Academic Requirements:

If you have completed the standard XII awarded by the CISCE/CBSE, or another recognised state exam board, with at least 75% overall, you may be considered for admission to a first year Bachelors degree. For many courses at the University of Leicester, you will need 80% overall or higher, along with higher individual marks of 85% in relevant subjects.

If you are studying A-levels or the International Baccalaureate (IB) then you can begin from the first year of a Bachelors degree. Please see inidvidual course pages for entry requirements.

If you have already completed the first year of an undergraduate degree at an Indian university, you may be considered for entry to the first or second year of a Bachelors degree if you have studied relevant subjects and/or modules. We also have progression arrangements with some partner institutions in India, which allow advance entry to certain University of Leicester courses. Please contact the International Office for further information.

For standard entry to our Bachelor's programmes, you will need to have met the following:

Some Bachelor's degrees allow advanced entry to year 2 or year 3, depending on your study history.

If you have completed (or will complete) the Certificat d' Enseignement Secondaire Superieur (French) or Diploma van Secundaire Onderwijs (Dutch/Flemish speakers) you will typically need a pass of 75% overall to begin from the first year of a Bachelors degree (depending on the subject that you wish to study).

If you have completed the European Baccalaureate then you can begin from the first year of a Bachelors degree. 85% would be the equivalent to a grade A in a British A-level; 77% would be equivalent to a grade B.
